NEW YORK -- Cannon was reloaded and ready, and color and patterns were revamped at Domestics Week in New York, which ran from March 29 through April 2.

Color continues to be addressed broadly to give retailers choice, but fashion has reimposed itself to a degree, as evident at the show. Rather than the widest array of colors possible, mills offered a range at this market from neutrals through spice tones through a richer pallet that correlates to cosmetics colors. Greens, blues, rusty reds and yellows were conspicuous.

Embroidery has become a way to provide an upscale flourish-and frequently a higher price point--to a variety of bed and bath products. …
