BAGHDAD, Fri. - Hussein Ali Hussein, 13, was playing in the playground near his house on the first day of the US-led attack against Iraq.
Bombs were raining down.
His house was almost destroyed in the attack after the zohor prayers.
However, Hussein Ali was fortunate. Unlike his friends and neighbours, he survived but suffered serious injuries and was being treated at the Saddam Hussein Paediatric Hospital.
His hands and feet were injured. On Tuesday, he underwent an operation to treat his legs but not much could be done by the doctor due to the lack of equipment at the hospital.
