KOTA BAHARU, April 15 (Bernama) -- The Agriculture Ministry has introduced a a smart-partnership programme for land-owners in an effort to overcome problems of idle land throughout the country.

Its deputy minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shariff Omar encouraged landowners to co-operate with the private sector to develop the land and share the profits.

Mohd Shariff spoke to reporters after launching the 2003 National Land Conference titled 'Towards Maximising Land Usage' here today.
