Sales of electronics products based on Microsoft's Windows CE operating system and its derivatives will overtake sales of Windows-based personal computers by the end of this decade, according to a new study.

Research from consultancy eTForecasts suggests that this trend will be led by the Asia-Pacific region, where Internet-ready mobile phones, personal digital assistants and hybrids of these devices are being swiftly adopted by consumers.
